Pawnee, Indiana: First in friendship, fourth in obesity. Amy Poehler stars as Leslie Knope, an optimistic government worker who believes you really can do anything if you set your mind to it. She runs the Parks department in Pawnee and if you think madness can’t happen in a small town then you’d be sorely mistaken. This show got overlooked because it came out at the same time as The Office and is similar in the fact that it follows a set group of characters but it’s just as ridiculously funny in its own right. Starting the careers of Aziz Ansari and Chris Pratt, you can’t survive an episode without laughing. If you weren’t a fan of The Office maybe give this one a try because the humor is different and it’s overall a more exciting show.
