If roughly 10 family members stood in your way of a multi-billion-dollar fortune, what would you do? Becket Redfellow (Glen Powell)’s mom was disowned after becoming pregnant with him, so after her death, he decides to go after what’s “rightfully” his from his wealthy lineage. Margaret Qualley plays his longtime friend Julia, and Topher Grace, Zach Woods, Ed Harris, and more make up his wild family. Going in, I expected this to be a pretty mediocre movie, and I’m afraid it lived up to my expectations. It starts very original and fun (which is typical for A24), but surprisingly, it slowly falls flat. I will say, it was refreshing that Powell didn’t play the typical frat boy next door, and Margaret Qualley is great, but I wanted to see more of her. Too simple in plot and (Shark Tank voice) so for that reason we gave it a meh rating. All that to say, despite it not being a must-see, when it’s streamable, it’ll be a fun watch at home!
