Oliver (Barry Keoghan, The Banshees of Inisherin) a scholarship student at Oxford, is an outsider. Spending his days studying and idolizing the popular kids. One day he gets to make an impression on Felix (Jacob Elordi), the richest guy at school. After becoming fast friends due to his hardships at home, Felix invites Oliver to stay with him at his family’s castle during the summer. The family is all over the place and clearly broken. Oliver also isn’t all that he seems… So first off this is a dark comedy. Rosamund Pike plays the mom and plays the vapid and ruthless matriarch flawlessly. This movie is okay. I caught this one on Prime and not in theaters and I’m kinda of glad. There are a handful of scenes that you don’t see coming that I could have lived without. Besides that, this is actually a complex movie that kept me guessing until the end but not my favorite.
