Amy Winehouse. A one of a kind voice that was gone too soon. Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), this biopic follows Winehouse (played by Marisa Abela) from humble beginnings to tumultuous relationships that inspired her classic hits to her ultimate demise. Now this movie is not happy. She was a young woman who had an incredible gift but became addicted to drugs and alcohol in the name of love. This movie was fine, but it didn’t do her justice and highlighted her downfall more than who she was. Her family didn’t have any involvement in the film and it shows. Interesting watch if you’re a fan but it’s not a must-see.
