RUN AWAY IT’S A TRAP (trust me)! Josh Hartnett plays Cooper, a loving dad who takes his daughter to her favorite artist’s concert (played by M. Night Shyamalan’s real-life daughter Saleka). After noticing the increased security he finds out that the whole concert is a trap to catch a serial killer. Then you find out it’s him! Now he has to figure out a way to beat the FBI and escape without arousing suspicion from his daughter. So I was excited for this movie. I was really excited. The trailer had me hooked and I couldn’t wait for the twist because SURELY the twist wouldn’t have been revealed in the trailer. That’s textbook Hollywood, never reveal too much info in the trailer because then you lose steam for the movie’s wow factor. Well, that’s exactly what M. Night did. About halfway I started getting bored. It felt rushed and don’t even get me started on the plotholes. I won’t say it’s not creative but it seemed more like a plug for his daughter’s career featuring close-ups of Hartnett’s face and less like my expectation of Jason Bourne at a concert. Don’t spend money on this, definitely wait to stream.
