Trigger warning: movie shows scenes involving assault and murder
Ah dating, it’s the worst right? Well, Cheryl (played by Anna Kendrick who also directed) goes on The Dating Game and ends up picking the allusive Bachelor #3. Unbeknownst to Kendrick, he’s a serial killer! Based on the true story of Rodney Alcala, a serial killer and sex offender who appeared in the show in 1978, a year before he was caught. This movie will give you the creeps, understandably so. It flips back and forth between the different victims of Alcala and the filming of the episode so there’s an underlying tension the whole movie. Originally this was supposed to come out in 2023 but because of the SAG-AFTRA strike it was delayed release. It’s pretty gruesome so if you don’t do true crime well then maybe skip it.
