The Six Triple Eight

Time and time again there are stories of heroes past that are being told for the first time. Thanks to Tyler Perry, the latest story is of the 6888th Battalion in World War 2, the all-Black all-female army corp that was tasked with organizing over 17 million pieces of mail in six months. Families and troops at the front hadn’t been able to communicate with each other for years, so they tasked the 6888th with figuring out a solution, facing discrimination and prejudice the entire time. Susan Sarandon plays Eleanor Roosevelt and Kerry Washington plays the commanding major, Charity Adams. This was a good not great movie. It was entertaining and interesting but a little on the cheesy side. If you like war movies or are a history buff, this will be right up your alley.
