Two cousins all grown up travel to Poland to honor their grandmother’s memory. Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Now You See Me) plays David, the type A-OCD cousin and Kiernan Culkin (Succession) plays Benji, the charismatic and unpredictably loud cousin. This movie was very somber. They’re on a heritage-guided tour of different landmarks and a concentration camp. I thought it would be about one thing and watched something completely different. I think the movie makes you ask yourself: what does pain and suffering look like, is it obvious or subtle? You’ll be laughing and crying but I think it’s a good one for all of us to see. Culkin was nominated for an Oscar and I can see why. A good pick if you’re in the mood for human interest and a very slow burn.
