Girl boss. Usually, that means someone who has hustled and earned her top-dog spot in the business world through merit and grit. In reformed-party-girl Isla Gordon’s (Kate Hudson/Andy Anderson) case, she becomes the boss because her brother goes to rehab. Now a pro basketball team is owned by the underdog of the family so has to prove to herself, the NBA, and a whole fanbase that she can do this. Noteworthy cast members include Schmidt from New Girl/ Max Greenfield, Justin Theroux, and London Tipton herself Brenda Song. This was delightful and hilarious. The fact that it was produced by Mindy Kaling automatically made it a must-watch for me and it reminded me of Ted Lasso just a little with how surprisingly endearing it is. I was able to watch the whole thing in a weekend and I’m glad I did. My rec if you’re looking for a new comedy to watch and like sports.
