Trigger wanting: show discusses abuse, mass shootings, and mental illness

Number of episodes: 15

This show. If you haven’t been in the medical show game in a while, watch this one. (If you’re a medical professional, maybe not.) Taking place over one day shift at a Pennsylvania hospital’s ER (each episode is one hour of the shift), watch as interns learn the ropes and attendings try to put out fires, all while hospital management tries to make cuts. It will have you engaged and stressed the whole time, but it’s so good. The show’s subject matter and tone have been praised by the medical community for being an accurate representation of the turmoil and mayhem that encapsulated every day of their job. Noah Wyle from ER plays Dr. Robby, and then the rest of the cast is pretty unknown. Refreshingly enough, there’s no major romantic plot; it’s strictly human interest and drama. I really loved this show, and it’s already been renewed for a second season. If blood and bodily fluids don’t freak you out, sit down and get started!
