The story was based on the testimonies of the members of this particular Navy SEAL platoon and their 2006 mission. It was filmed in real time, so for an hour and a half, you’re following these men as things go right and wrong, making you see the full scope of the reality of what a soldier’s day could entail. It has a cast of up-and-coming male leads, including Noah Centineo, Charles Melton, Will Poulter, and Joseph Quinn. It’s been a few years since we’ve had a gritty war movie, and so I wasn’t used to the realistic wartime injury and how devastating it is. I feel like Hollywood will often show an explosion but not he aftermath and quickly go to the next action sequence. Having it at a slower pace made you feel the weight that anyone who’s been in combat has to carry. I thought this was a good movie, but it’s very intense. The sound should be up for awards because that was beautifully edited. If you like war movies, you should check this one out!
