Imagine you know someone was murdered, but no one believes you? Lo (Elizabeth Bennett herself, played by Keira Knightley) is a journalist who is invited to go on a luxurious yacht to write a feature about the owners. It’s what you would expect from a luxury trip: insufferably snooty people, lavish dinners, and her ex Ben. She hears someone go overboard in the suite next to hers, but no one is staying in that room. Based on the book of the same name by Ruth Ware, watch as she races against time to find out who knows the truth and who is after her. I’m a fan of Ruth Ware, so I was excited for this movie to come out. There are differences from the book, but overall, I thought this movie was okay. There was definite suspense and a mystery to solve, but it just fell flat for me, and not because I knew the ending. Still a good choice if you’re looking for a fresh thriller to watch on a night in.
