Growing up Ruby who was the only hearing member of her family (CODA: child of deaf adult) is made fun of and doesn’t have a life. Following her crush by joining the choir, she realizes her love of singing. This movie is hilarious and a great representation of the deaf community. With the typical teen wanting to follow her dream and parents who don’t understand her, it’s an excellent movie for the whole family (only if they can watch at least PG-13).
