Okay, so Legolas (Orlando Bloom) has an idea to get all the top race car simulation players in the world to compete in order for one of them to be a professional driver. Enter Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour), a retired driver tasked as their chief engineer. Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a British simulation-trained racing driver who was thrust onto the world stage at the ripe age of 19. Other than seeing racing games at an arcade and Formula 1 video games I had no idea there was an intense world of race simulations (sorry nerds who I’ve offended). But low and behold, I was wrong and this movie was great. In just over 2 hours, you’ll be transported into the world of racing (one I’ve missed since first watching Ford v. Ferrari) and feel the emotion from the driver’s seat to the pit. In my true form, no spoilers, but I will say that if you like cars/racing games/arcades/adrenaline this movie is for you. Whether parts are facts or fiction, you’ll have a good time.
