Rustin

Bayard Rustin, one of the main advisors to MLK for most of the social rights movement, was a complex man. He was a key figurehead of the movement but his name isn’t referenced often even though it was him that provided a lot of impact. Being openly gay in the 1960s made him a target both personally and professionally. Snubbed by the NAACP, he decided to spearhead the biggest nonviolent protest ever, the March on Washington. Coleman Domingo plays Rustin and is phenomenal. As someone who loves history, I didn’t know the story behind the march and it made it so much more impactful. Definitely worth a watch!
