For anyone who loves the 1996 classic Twister, you won’t be disappointed. Having parallels to the original, science is trying to take down tornadoes. After suffering loss, tornado scientist Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones from Where the Crawdads Sing, Under the Banner of Heaven) leaves the chasing world behind. That is until she’s coaxed back into the field by her old colleague Javi (Anthony Ramos from both Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway hits Hamilton and In the Heights) with promises of tornado tracking software that will better predict them and help save lives. While on the plains, she meets cyber-celebrity tornado chaser Tyler (Glen Powell from Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) who only wants to sit in the middle of the storm for the thrill (and the cameras). All is going according to plan until once-in-a-lifetime storm cells hit the middle of Oklahoma. They have to work together to survive. I really liked this one! It had a lot of dry humor to go with the terrifying CGI storms. Great choice for those not scared of a little wind and suspense!
