Thunderbolts*

Finally a summer Marvel premiere worth going to see in theaters! After years of flops or straight to Disney+ movies this was a refreshing change and in my opinion a redeeming to the universe. Rejected and misunderstood antiheroes team up together to take down not just Elaine from Seinfeld (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) but Lewis Pullman/Bill Pullman’s son. And if you’re wondering about asterisks, that’ll be revealed at the end of the movie, great marketing move on Marvel’s part. Runtime is a little over two hours but honestly, I didn’t feel it. There is one pre-credit scene and one post so don’t move until it’s over over. Lots of Easter eggs and fun things for comic fans along with a surprisingly wonderful theme of community and friendship. The cast assembled; Florence Pugh, David Harbor, Wyatt Russell, Sebastian Stan, and Hannah John-Kaman are great. True to Marvel movies there’s dry humor and snark but the team’s chemistry just worked. I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend not waiting for it to stream!
