Broken people save broken people.
Jake Gyllenhaal is a police officer that has been demoted to the 911 response center but gets wrapped up in saving a woman who’s been taken, hostage. If you’ve ever been frustrated with customer service on the phone you will be able to relate to him trying to coordinate with law enforcement. You will be on edge for a good hour and a half with plenty of twists and turns to have you scream “WHAT.” Gyllenhaal played a man in distress well but that’s not a surprise given Jarhead and End of Watch.
This is based on the 2018 Danish film (of the same title) that was submitted for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.
