The Lost Daughter

This was a weird one. Based on the book of the same name by Elena Ferrante, Olivia Coleman is on vacation in Italy. We know that she’s a professor but slowly becomes unhinged at the sight of Dakota Johnson and her daughter. There are many flashbacks to her being a mom when she was younger which play a part in her character development. It’s very slow but a great directorial debut for Maggie Gyllenhaal. It might come up come award season so I’d watch it if you’re a purest like myself.
