Originally a documentary in France, The Staircase on Netflix took the true crime-loving scene by storm in 2018. Did a husband push his wife down the stairs or did she fall? HBO took matters into its own hands and did a based on true events show following the case and the making of the documentary, featuring Colin Firth as Michael Peterson. As the case unfolded there was (as per usual) much more to the story than what was originally shared. To avoid spoiling anything I will just say that this is well done and makes you want to be careful about who you marry.
