Warning: this movie portrays sexual harassment and assault investigations
The year is 2016, Donald Trump just became president, Bill O’Reilly is fired from Fox and the woman’s movement erupted. Enter Meghan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, investigative journalists at the New York Times, who is tasked with looking into inappropriate behavior in the workplace. Kantor gets wind of Rose McGowen’s allegations against Harvey Weinstein and the rest is history. Based on the book of the same title, see how two reporters wrote the story that ignited the #MeToo movement. Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman) and Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick) portray both women and it’s a very engaging and interesting film. Those easily triggered by discussions around sexual assault should refrain from seeing this movie as there is live testimony throughout the film. Otherwise, this was a great movie and I would highly recommend it.
