It’s been too long since we’ve had a movie that you root for the criminal. Recommended by a family member, Bandit, the movie that flew under my radar but is actually really great. Josh Duhamel plays Gilbert Galvan Jr “The Flying Bandit,” a guy who has perfected how to rob a bank. Granted this movie is set in the 80s so security isn’t exactly high-tech. Based on the real life Galvan who held the record for the most consecutive robberies in Canadian history. It’s a goofy Ocean’s 11 if I do say so myself. Mel Gibson plays the kingpin of illegal goods smuggling who befriends and assists him in his jobs. Clever, funny, not exactly kid friendly but certainly entertaining. If you’ve never heard of it, no problem, I hadn’t either! So far it’s just available to rent but I’d say it’s worth the five dollars.
