Trigger warning: discussion of sexual assault and post partum depression
Brooke Shields, when you say her name to those who were growing up in the ’80s you’ll think of Calvin Klein jeans. If you were born in the ’90s and on, you might not know who she is. Shields from a young age was famous for her face. Undeniably a very gorgeous and natural beauty. However, being that pretty came at a price. She was cast in roles for movies that were controversial and appalling for some because she was overly sexualized at a young age. She now gets to tell her story (even though she’s written a few books) about how she came to fame and found a voice for herself. It puts into perspective, like a lot of other celebrities that have spoken about being a child actor, how confusing and unprotected young fame can truly be.
