A Bridgerton spin-off and man it’s great. Shonda Rhimes decided that the Queen (Golda Rosheuvel) needed her own backstory. Flipping back and forth between the present and the past, you watch a woman who had no desire to be queen, fight for her marriage and love in a new way. We know from the previous seasons of Bridgerton that the king has a mental illness, but this peels back the screen and you see how someone loves someone through it. Being the first Black queen also had its own challenges. Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) is the king’s mother and young Charlotte is played by India Ria Amarteifio. This was very well written and is a really touching show and yes it’s a little raunchy.
