Based on the book by Judy Blume, eleven-year old Margaret Simon just wants to be a normal fourth grader. She wants to have friends, grow boobs, and get her period. Throughout her wants and wishes, she talks to God. Told she doesn’t need to choose a religion until she’s older, she starts exploring different religions and asking the tough questions. First of all this movie will transport you back to middle school, the 70s or not, this time in any girls life is traumatic. The actors that play the kids capture the middle school experience perfectly. Rachel McAdams plays her mom and Kathy Bates is her grandmother. It was a feel-good family movie, or maybe even a mother-daughter movie night option.
