Based on the book by John Green (yes Fault In Our Stars author) meet Aza Holmes (Isabela Merced, oldest daughter in Instant Family). A girl with crippling OCD who is barely navigating high school. Enter her old camp friend’s dad who’s suddenly gone missing. Naturally, she and her best friend want to try and find him because there’s a $100,000 reward. This connects her with her old camp friend, Davis, who is now older and cuter. Now we forget the dad and she tries to figure out dating/love while also being grossed out by it, literally. Teen rom-com on the surface but cuts to the heart of the story really quickly with personal drama. It was an interesting movie but the book is probably better. They were trying to cram a lot into it so it felt rushed. Overall pretty cute but also will make you think way too much about germs. Not a bad option for a sick day or low-key evening but I wouldn’t be in a rush to watch.
