Apple Cinder Vinegar

Number of episodes: 6

Beating cancer. It’s something we want for others so badly that when someone appears to, you want to believe them. Why would anyone lie about that? In wellness-influencer Belle Gibson’s case, she fabricated beating cancer holistically. And before you come for me I’m not saying holistic medicine doesn’t work but she never had cancer to begin with so already off to a bad start. Similar to Inventing Anna, the story of a charismatic and manipulative young woman and her quest for fame is told dramatically and entertainingly. Kaitlyn Dever my limited series goddess (if you’ve missed her other work check out Unbelievable or Dopesick) stars as Gibson. She not only has a convincing accent but she’s a force to be reckoned with. Also if you ever watched the very niche 00s Australian ballet show Dance Academy you’ll see some familiar faces. This was pretty good, very interesting to watch how it could have all gone down and what happens when a little lie can hurt people. My pick if you are in for the weekend and want a low-commitment show.
