Superman

Superman returns! Not to be confused with the disaster that is the 2006 movie with the same title.. Clark Kent/Superman is back from a mission, when the world seems to turn against him. At the helm of the mayhem is Lex Luthor, the epitome of a stalker/ex with a vendetta, who will stop at nothing to destroy Superman. You’re rooting for Superman, and the theme song will still give you goosebumps, however old you are! That’s all I can tell you without ruining something. I enjoyed this one! It’s not an origin story (they would never be able to top Man of Steel), it’s another adventure of Superman, which I thought was quite refreshing given that Hollywood just wants to remake only lately. David Corenswet (rude scientist from Twisters) is the new man in blue, and I think he does a great job. Rachel Brosnahan (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult (The Great) plays Lex Luthor. Those three alone were excellent casting choices. James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy franchise) wrote and directed, which made for a comical and fresh take on the universe. Now, there’s some debate about whether this is a “good movie” compared to the other DC installments. Does Corenswet do a better job than Christopher Reeves or Henry Cavill? No. But if you’re in the mood for a superhero movie, this would scratch that itch.
