Alright so imagine Million Dollar Baby survived, was washed up, and forced to be a mother. There’s Bruised. Halle Berry (who is 55?!) embodies her inner Rocky in order to make a comeback into the UFC ring after walking away. In the midst of trying to mentally regain her confidence, her son is unexpectedly put in her custody. The fight scenes are pretty bloody but if you can make it through, this is a very compelling movie about survival, perseverance, and motherhood. Excellent directorial debut by Berry, will not forget this one.
