Native New Yorker Annie Jacobson finds out one day that her estranged grandfather passed away and left her and her twin brother an island in rural Canada. Desperate for answers since her mom died when she was little, Annie goes to Canada and gets more than she bargained for. This was so good, it’s the completely original coming-of-age show we’ve deserved. Created by Megan Park (Grace from Secret Lives of the American Teenager) of all people. The cast is a group of young actors who are relatively unknown but showed amazing range, Ella Rubin, Amélie Hoeferle, Bo Bragason, Mark Ruffalo’s son Keen, and many more. So far it hasn’t been renewed for a second season but I think I would be okay if this was just a limited series. Great watch for a weekend!
