Redeeming Love

January 31, 2022August 8, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

Trigger warning: movie depicts sexual abuse If you're like me and have read the book, this one will be extra special. Based on the historical fiction book with the same title by Francine Rivers, the book of Hosea from the bible is told through the point of view of a prostitute. The key theme is … Continue reading Redeeming Love

Joe Bell

January 3, 2022November 26, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

Trigger warning: this film contains bullying and suicide (This was released this summer so it's not brand new but I didn't see it anywhere so it gets reviewed now.) Marky Mark's son, who was bullied at school for being gay, commits suicide. In response, he begins an anti-bullying campaign speaking at different schools around the … Continue reading Joe Bell

Being The Ricardos

December 21, 2021August 8, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

I Love Lucy, perhaps you've heard of it. Despite the entire show being in black and white, you get to see the lives of Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) and Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) in full color. The movie shows the complicated relationship of Arnaz and Ball and takes you behind the scenes of the making … Continue reading Being The Ricardos

November 25, 2021December 20, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

Let me start off by saying that I did zero research about this movie before watching it. I knew of the all-star cast but that’s it. The premise is about the relationship between Mauricio and Patrizia Gucci and the years after. The Gucci family is a complicated and prideful one with many different dynamics. Insults … Continue reading House Of Gucci

Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse

October 15, 2021November 26, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

I'm unapologetically a lover of Michael B Jordan. So this is biased no doubt about it. Overall, I did enjoy this movie. There's betrayal, government coverups, and assassins. It's not going to win an Oscar and it's alittle too much at some parts, but overall, pretty entertaining for a Friday night action movie. Rating: 1.5/5

No Time To Die

October 15, 2021November 26, 2022 by Victoria Brown, posted in Amazon Prime

Finally, the last Daniel Craig Bond film has been released. I have to applaud Paramount for sticking to their guns and not releasing it during lockdown on a streaming site. It would take away from the full experience. Without disclosing spoilers, this was a witty and resolved last movie for Craig. Still the same handsome … Continue reading No Time To Die

I love the smell of Oscar noms in the morning! Head over to the home page to download your ballot for the 95th Academy Awards. Yes, Chef! So many times we watch something that will make us love food. Either that or make us thankful we don’t have to work under a crazy chef. Here are my recs for kitchen-placed dramas to feel both of those things: Not really into resolutions but I’m all for thinking of better movie-watching habits! Here are my goals for next year, do you have one? Comment below! So many new shows and seasons out! If you’re not sure what to dive into next, might I suggest: Don’t know what to watch now that White Lotus is over? I’ve got you covered with recs: It's come to my attention via feedback from loyal followers that I've been too nice/ lenient in my review scores, and I agree! Behold, a new rating rubric. Reviews will reflect these new scores in the next few days. The World Series is in full swing! Even if your team isn’t playing, there are plenty of movies to watch to fall in love with America’s pastime. ⚾️🏟️ A little less than three weeks until the new and last season of Netflix’s The Crown (trailer on blog). There have been many different portrayals of the royal family and specifically Diana before and after the deterioration of her and Charles’s marriage.
