Forget The Rock & Kevin Hart, The Rock & Ryan Reynolds is the comedic combination that we've needed. In this modern-day Nation Treasure-esque film, Reynolds, a world-class art thief, teams up with Johnson, an FBI profiler, to stop Gal Gadot from stealing precious ancient Egyptian Faberge eggs. Quite far-fetched, I know. It's a little strange … Continue reading Red Notice

The Harder They Fall
Since Django Unchained I haven't watched a western that I enjoyed. Netflix did a great job with their first attempt at an original western. Featuring an all black principal cast, the movie follows an outlaw (Jonathan Majors) that learns that the man who killed his parents (Idris Elba) is being released from prison. Wanting revenge … Continue reading The Harder They Fall
Dune
Sand, that's all I knew about this movie going in. A lot of sand, it's based on a book and stars Timmy Chalamet. The premise is essentially about one thing, survival. One planet (Zendaya's) is the sole provider of spice but different nations want to be the sole harvester. Amidst tragedy, Tim Tim searches for … Continue reading Dune
The Guilty
Warning: this movie discusses violence and mental illness. Broken people save broken people. Jake Gyllenhaal is a police officer that has been demoted to the 911 response center but gets wrapped up in saving a woman who's been taken, hostage. If you've ever been frustrated with customer service on the phone you will be able … Continue reading The Guilty
Squid Game
Episodes: 9 A couple people told me I need to review this one so I gave it a whirl. If Willy Wonka and Jigsaw decided to team up and create their own Hunger Games, this would be it. There are games with sadistic twists, weird-looking henchmen, suspense, and riches beyond your wildest imagination. The only … Continue reading Squid Game
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Zero expectations going in walked out in love. Between the plot, message, and script, this was an A+ movie. Marvel whips outs hit movies, it's known, but this one was especially nice because unless you read the comics you didn't know anything about this character. A solid Asian male lead is precisely what we need … Continue reading Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Free Guy
First of all, I love Ryan Reynolds, but he was upstaged by Jodie Comer. I knew going in it was about a game character that discovers he's in a video game. I didn't realize that it was going to unexpectedly be a rom-com! Typical Reynolds style, there's humor and snark at every corner but also … Continue reading Free Guy
Enola Holmes
Okay, I finally sat down and finished Enola Holmes (the first time I meant to keep watching but was distracted, and hey it happens.) Love me Millie BB, I think she did a great job being the hero in her own story. There was just enough wit and charm to make up for the weak … Continue reading Enola Holmes
Mare of Easttown
Episodes: 7 Kate Winslet does it again. There's character development, there's a murder, and there's Evan Peters. This is one that you cannot miss. The premise is a flawed detective tried to solve the murder of her best friend's daughter. It's a slow burn at first but once you find out more clues, you'll be … Continue reading Mare of Easttown
Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse
I'm unapologetically a lover of Michael B Jordan. So this is biased no doubt about it. Overall, I did enjoy this movie. There's betrayal, government coverups, and assassins. It's not going to win an Oscar and it's alittle too much at some parts, but overall, pretty entertaining for a Friday night action movie. Rating: 1.5/5
No Time To Die
Finally, the last Daniel Craig Bond film has been released. I have to applaud Paramount for sticking to their guns and not releasing it during lockdown on a streaming site. It would take away from the full experience. Without disclosing spoilers, this was a witty and resolved last movie for Craig. Still the same handsome … Continue reading No Time To Die
